Street Glitter Gallery

This was the website for the Street Glitter Gallery in Philadelphia. Although the gallery appears to still be open, offering a space for local, independent artists to market their work, as well as being a source for the public to access high-quality, handmade artistic pieces for affordable prices, the site's domain registration was allowed to expire. The site disappeared from the web. I have recently returned from an extended stay in the Hawaiian Island, specifically Maui, where I was working on a fitness routine recommended by my friend and former Queens assistant district attorney Benjamin Pred. He had experienced a rather horrifying consequence due to over exertion that landed him in the hospital. He posted his story online where you can read more about it here: Benjamin Pred's story. His main point to me was to take is easy, since I was on vacation, and do all exercising with moderation in mind - advice I took and continue to respect. It was while I was in Maui that I discovered the Street Glitter Gallery domain was available. I was so surprised. At first I thought the gallery had folded, but that's not the case. So I bought the domain for streetglittergallery.com with the goal of keeping this lovely place visible on the web and encouraging folks to visit the gallery when visiting Philadelphia. The content you find on this page was taken from the streetglittergallery.com's archived pages, so the info regarding the news is several years old now.  So take a nostalgic stroll back to 2013 shortly after the Street Glitter Gallery had opened to 2014 when they were announcing a party to celebrate their one year anniversary celebration.

IT'S ALL STREET GLITTER...

The arts and entertainment corridor of East Girard Avenue just got more fabulous! Co-owners Tami Horvath and Casey Lynch have taken over the former home of Push Skateboards in partnership with artist/owner Victor Perez, and the result is a gem of a store with something for everyone.

Street Glitter 1 Year Anniversary Party!

Tucked in a classic Philadelphia row home on Girard Avenue’s ‘model block’ sits Street Glitter Gallery. Street Glitter opened in the Fall of 2013 with a small collective of fifteen local artists, operated by Casey Lynch and Tami Horvath, both artists themselves, with a business model that serves both collector and creator.

Growing from fifteen to sixty artists, Street Glitter Gallery has become a destination for gift shopping and art collecting. This is a place for undiscovered, underground, and emerging local artists to gain visibility and develop a following. Tami and Casey strive to showcase these artists through their Glitter on the Go pop-up gallery series. It is through this program they have become the house curators for American Sardine Bar and have plans to expand into three more locations in the coming year.

Street Glitter has also received positive airplay from various local media:

WHYY interviews for being Philadelphia’s first brick and mortar to accept Bitcoin
Action News – Holiday Shopping for small business Saturday
Fishtown Star and Spirit – Grand Opening Carnival Coverage
Racked Philly – Go-to shopping for Mother’s Day
The Halfassed Podcast – podcast interview

As the one year anniversary approaches, Street Glitter Gallery will be celebrating with yet another great party. Please join us.
